2003 Texas Shootout Finals Oct.11-12

"Latest News"

(10/04/06)New season and a New Bike  Alot has happened since last updating, but I'll try to do a better job at it. I've purchased a new Kawasaki ZX14 Candy Thunder Blue, man is this thing fast! So far I've got over 130 passes on it, still stk clutch. It has gone 9.85 @ 143mph with a buddy that is alot lighter than me. My best time is 10.01 @ 141mph. Did I metion this thing is still bone stock! So far I have been to 3 finals won 2 and a pair of Semi-final finishes. I guess you can say it is a good luck charm. Met a couple of new freinds at the track since buying this rocket. Mike & Char both ride '06 Busas.

(10/13/03)The Finals are here. I broke the Kawi last time out, can't seem to find the problem why it will miss without any warning. So I pulled out the street bike, a 85 VF700 Sabre. I guess it was my good luck charm, because I went all the way to the finals. Where I got caught sleeping by a Busa, he did his job, beat me by 0.2 on the tree and ran 9.707 on a 9.70 dial. This put me in 14th place for the year out of 142 entries.

"Dynamo Dan" didn't run he decided to sell at the track.
So he fell to around 22nd place for the year out of 48 entries.

(9/10/03)Well it's been awhile since the last update. We both missed the September race due to other commitments.
I dropped to 24th place and "Dynamo Dan" fell to 21st.

(7/26/03) It wasn't the best weekend for us. But the weather cooperated this time, partly cloudy around 95.
We went to San Antonio raceway, to test Wed. tried a few changes afterwards, and found that we slowed both bikes down.
So off to the shootout we went, I made it another round in the rainedout June race. Totalling 41 points for that race. The bike just wouldn't run it's normal # way off pace.
With that I am now in 16th place. I need alot more practice.  Dan was able to run real close to his dial, but he had "RED-EYE" all weekend! Now in 17th place, it was a fairly poor showing only 22 in Pro/ET and 54 in S/ET.

(6/14/03) Bad weather threatened all weekend. But we headed to HRP anyway, in search of every point opportunity possible. The skies held out until about 5:00pm, we got in 2 Rds. of S/ET & Pro/ET and half of 1st Rd. of the index classes.
Dynamo made it thru Rd. 1 taking on Eddie Glaze's turbo Katana 1100, Eddie took too much time out of his box and redlit.
Good thing because we bogged bad off the line. Next we took on Robert Sanders Turbo Kaw (his 8.20 to our 9.25 dial-in).
Dan had finally got his lights down and had been slaying the tree all day, but cut it too close this time a -0.040 to 0.106 light gave away the win.

I made it thru 2 Rds. so far and I'm still in, both Busa's redlit against me, Guess I make them nervous being so far ahead before their lights even start. ;~) The rained out race will finish at the July 26th event, so far another 31 points.
At the track this weekend was Lee Shierts running his
Lee's Performance Center GSXR1000 on spray.

(4/26/03) Well another Texas Shootout @ Houston Raceway Park, and suprize guess who showed up and whipped up on the Pro/ET class? . . . Craig Treble!
with his full chassis Busa dragbike that is as accurate as an "atomic clock". I'll tell you he is one of the nicest, most professional racers you will ever meet. So I won a few more rounds and right now I'm tied for 17th place in Street/ET.
Which is no easy task, why do I torture myself over 100 entries, when there were only about 45 entries in Pro/ET, which pays alot more cash. Dynamo ran as quick as 9.14 and is now tied for 20th place.

(4/8/03) Currently both Dynamo and myself are tied for 28th place
in Pro/ET and S/ET, with 40 and 91 bikes qualified in each class respectively.

(3/18/03) The first race of the season is almost upon us(Mar.29-30). The first shakedown runs netted a couple of 9.50's, all motor! A few more changes and some getting used to the new chassis and we'll be able to turn it up!
